Globally, there has been an ICT revolution, which rapidly increased in momentum from year 2000. The internet economy has grown larger and faster than could have been reasonably expected back then. But how can Africa really harness the technology revolution to its betterment?
Panelists will share their perspectives on the actions necessary to build modern ICT-supported economies. Learning the lessons from those countries that have burgeoning ICT sectors while also understanding the breadth of application of ICT – from m-health and e-agricultural value chains, through smart power grids and cities to e-government and relations with citizens – is valuable for broad goals of industrialization. Fostering innovation and new ventures, producing local applications, content, services and jobs for young entrepreneurs and youth is also crucial.

H. E. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda
Hon. Joseph Mucheru, Minister of ICT, Government of Kenya, formerly head of Google Africa
