Profile

Sipho is a banker by profession and has extensive Corporate Finance, Transaction Advisory and Corporate Turnaround experience. Having left the consulting and finance world in 2006 to pursue his own business interests he has subsequently become an Infrastructure Developer, utilising his skills in both Corporate Finance and Banking to establish specialised Property Development companies and a Hydroelectricity Generation project.

Sipho has had extensive banking experience in both Corporate Banking at both the operational and senior management level. His corporate banking experience has been obtained as a result of having worked for various financial institutions in Europe, Asia and Africa. He has an in-depth understanding of risk analysis and the factors that drive businesses at both a micro and macro level.  He has been involved in structuring large and complex loan packages for private sector corporates and financial institutions. Sipho has also been involved in establishing the operational parameters of these facilities and has worked closely with large bilateral and multilateral financial institutions such as the European Investment Bank, PROPARCO, Norfund, CDC, International Finance Corporation and the World Bank.

Sipho was the joint Managing Director of one of Zambia’s largest professional services and accounting firms from 1999 to 2006 and specialised in Corporate Finance.  He established the firm in Zambia as a premier provider of professional services in the Zambian market by building a team of highly skilled professional staff, able to deliver a world class service. He established DCDM as a premier Corporate Finance entity in Zambia and arranged funding for large and medium scale enterprises across multiple sectors and sourced funding from multiple jurisdictions.

Sipho, having developed and utilised these skills for others, has now turned his expertise toward his own ventures. These include;

Western Power Limited – Founder Executive Chairman | 2010

He has established an opportunity to develop a 80MW run of river Hydroelectricity Power Station on the Zambezi River in Western Province of Zambia.  The project is in an advanced stage of the final feasibility study being completed and construction is due to commence in 2016.  The total project cost will be c. US$200 million.

Leopards Hill Memorial Park Limited – Founder & Managing Director | 2008

He and his business partners purchased an 80 acre farm located in between Lusaka’s municipal burial sites and have established a private cemetery to overcome Lusaka’s desperate need for burial space. The total project was c. US$ 4 million

Leopards Hill Development Limited – Founder | 2006

He along with his business partner who specialised in Property Development in London developed a high end property development in Lusaka, the Mukamunya Estate, which at the time was the first development of its kind in Zambia. Sipho raised in excess of US$ 6 m to complete the development.
