After an incredible week last week when we launched two new programmes, we have even more in store for you this week.

We are excited to launch the call for applications for the Thrive Investor Readiness programme. Working in partnership with Prospero and Village Capital, we are looking to work with 10 post-revenue companies that are ready for investment opportunities. Applications for the Future Traders programme, in partnership with Absa Bank Zambia PLC are still open. We are looking for Zambian university students in 3rd & 4th Year year who would like to explore the idea of a career in Financial Markets. Students in Accounting, Economics, Finance Mathematics and Business streams are encouraged to apply. Applications close on Saturday, 14 November. To apply, visit the website.

Last week, we launched the SC Women in Technology Incubator programme, in collaboration with Standard Chartered Bank Zambia. Applications for the programme will open on  Monday, 7 December. For application requirements, visit the website

This week is the final pitch event for BOOST UP 2020. Eighteen tech-driven early-stage impact startups from Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia will compete to be crowned the winner of the BOOST UP competition. Liquid Telecom raises $307 million in funding to expand Africa data centre business
Liquid Telecom, the African technology company founded by Zimbabwean entrepreneur Strive Masiyiwa in 1997, has just raised $307 million in funding to expand its data centre business.
The latest investment comes from shareholders and an additional US$40 million equity investment from long-term backer, CDC Group, the UK’s development finance institution, which has been investing in Liquid Telecom since 2013.
