The Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) is in the process of developing a framework for a regulatory sandbox that could allow organisations with new innovations that fall under Capital Markets to conduct live experiments in a controlled environment under a regulator's supervision. In collaboration with the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and BongoHive, we would like to invite startups, existing capital market operators, and other innovators in the Capital Markets space to take part in a session on the proposed framework this Friday 28 August. Today, we begin the 5-day Drone Hackathon Zambia Challenge with the 30 selected participants. The lessons will be conducted by experienced drone professionals from the Global Air Drone Academy (GADA), and the programme is supported by the U.S. Embassy in Zambia and the Zambia Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). We look forward to an exciting 5 days ahead.
We will be opening up applications for the Discover programme this Wednesday!
Discover is a pre-accelerator programme, designed to work with entrepreneurs at idea-stage or that have recently launched their startup but would like to test, refine and prototype their idea. The programme will be held virtually from Monday 28 September to Friday 9 October, at a cost of ZMW1,000 per startup. Check out or social media pages or our website for the launch! Deadline is Friday 11 September.

United States Embassy Lusaka and WEAC Zambia are now accepting applications for the second phase of the AWE program. AWE is aimed at providing Zambian women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, tools, networks and mentorship needed to start or grow their businesses.
