Hello!
Happy last day of August! Is it just us, or is this unpredictable year moving by quite fast?
Anyway, here’s your weekly update on BongoHive’s activities -

We opened up applications for our Discover preaccelerator programme last week. Discover is one of our flagship entrepreneurship programmes, targeted to help those who are new to running a business or venturing out into a new business idea. If you know or are someone who is, tell them to register for this two-week online session. Cost: ZMW1,000. Application deadline: Friday, 11 September. Apply here.

Last week, we wrapped up Boost Up Zambia 2020, a programme we were running alongside NTBC and WEAC, with support from Southern Africa Innovation Support (SAIS) programme. The 3 Top startups are - 1st Place: Dawa Clinic; 2nd Place: Aquatech Solutions; 3rd Place: Nature's Nectar. The 3 startups will now proceed to Scale Up - an Online Incubation Programme. Congratulations to all the participants and the finalists.

We also held the week-long Drone Hackathon Zambia Challenge with Global Air Drone Academy (GADA). 10 finalists made their business pitches on Friday, and the winners will be announced tomorrow.  Thank you to the participants for remaining engaged during the week, and the support from various people in running this virtual programme.

The Solve 4 X: SDGs and Covid-19 Meetups begin soon! We will be contacting all the successful applicants today, and sharing more info about the schedule and guest speakers. Be on the lookout for that by checking on our website and social media pages.

That’s it from us! See you in September.
