We are starting the week with excellent news from last week!
On Friday, the BOOST UP 2020 final pitch event was held with eighteen tech-driven early-stage impact startups competing to be crowned the winner of Boost Up competition. Pitching against participants from Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia, Dawa Health from Zambia was selected as the winner of Boost Up 2020. Dawa Health are alumni of BongoHive's Launch programme, and also received mentorship from the VC4A Mentor Driven Capital programme. Congratulations and well done to the team!
We are still taking applications for the Thrive Investor Readiness programme, which we are working on in partnership with Prospero and Village Capital. The programme is designed for startups that are at growth stage (post-revenue) and are ready for investment opportunities. Applications are open until Friday, 11 December at 23:59hrs. Applications are also open for the MTN MoMo Hackathon 2020! MTN Zambia, with Comviva and BongoHive will be hosting programmers, developers and entrepreneurs based in Zambia, and providing the opportunity for them to create innovative financial and transactional applications using the MTN MOMO API platform. Following the launch of the Standard Chartered Women in Technology Incubator programme on Wednesday 4th November, all potential applicants are encouraged to visit the website to learn more about application requirements and to register their interest.
