Hello!
Zambia has so far had the highest bi-weekly COVID-19 case growth rate in the world. In the past 1 week, Zambia’s number of new cases has increased by almost 150%. We would like to urge you to adhere to preventative measures and reduce the spread of the virus. Mask up, wash hands, practice social distancing and stay at home.
Here is what we have planned for you this week:
With over 10 weeks of business coaching and leveraging tech for business growth, the SC Women in Tech participants are preparing for Demo Day where they will showcase how they will use technology to grow their businesses. The participants have also shared their experiences on how the programme has impacted their businesses so far. Check their responses on our Facebook page.
On Tuesday last week, the United Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) launched the Regulatory Playbook for Zambian FinTechs. The webinar included a presentation on the Regulatory playbook and a panel of industry experts who discussed how regulators are supporting innovation in a growing sector in Zambia’s digital finance market. We collaborated with (UNCDF) to launch the Regulatory Playbook which is based on our work with FinTech startups. You can access the Playbook here.
In episode 9 of the BongoHive podcast, our guests discuss the tech entrepreneurship ecosystem, as well as the UN ITC Tech Hubs in Africa. We also identify factors that influence this ecosystem and how they can be leveraged to ensure entrepreneurial success. Listen here
That is all from us this week. Have a great week, and stay safe.
