100 Zambian SMEs Upskilled in Digital Marketing

BongoHive, Zambia’s leading technology and innovation hub, has successfully completed an in-person training program for 100 local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The program, which was selected and funded by the International Trade Centre (ITC), equipped participating entrepreneurs with essential digital skills to thrive in the e-commerce landscape.

Over the course of the program, SME owners learned how to set up and optimize their Google My Business profiles, cultivate a strong online presence on social media, and leverage the power of AI tools like ChatGPT and Canva for content creation and optimization. The highlight of the program was a special appearance by BongoHive Co-Founder, Lukonga Lindunda, who shared the inspiring story of building BongoHive from the ground up and securing their first $25,000 in funding.

“Tell your story and marry it with impact,” Lukonga advised the participants. “The phone is a powerful tool.”

As the program concludes, the SMEs have developed comprehensive Digital Growth Action Plans, setting SMART milestones for a profitable and sustainable online presence. This training is a testament to BongoHive’s commitment to empowering local businesses and driving digital transformation in Zambia.

“We are thrilled to have been selected by the ITC to deliver this transformative program,” said Lukonga Lindunda. “Equipping Zambian entrepreneurs with the necessary digital skills is crucial for their success in the e-commerce era. This program is just the beginning of our continued efforts to support the growth and development of the local startup ecosystem.”

BongoHive’s successful execution of this training program showcases its expertise in digital transformation and its position as a trusted partner for businesses and organizations seeking to drive innovation and growth in Zambia. This achievement further solidifies BongoHive’s reputation as a leading hub for technology and entrepreneurship in the region.
