We are in the second week of our Discover preaccelerator programme. Our online cohort has 8 participants, based in Lusaka and USA. We also have two of our Drone Hackathon Zambia winners in the cohort, learning about how to take their business ideas into launchable viable startups.

This week, we have a virtual Fireside Chat on Tuesday, 6th October at 3PM. Join us with three inspirational Female Founders: Evelyn Chilomo Kaingu of Lupiya, Rose Sibisi of Style with RoseS and CBC Television and Sara Drawwater of The Best of Zambia for a session on ‘Female Founders in the New Norm’. We are also going to be hosting a Women’s Table Talk session with UNZA Business and Economics Association (UNZABECA) with Monica Musonda - Java Foods CEO and Mukwandi Chibesakunda - CEO of ZANACO, on Friday, 9th October at 3PM. Details shared below.

The Zambia Internet Governance Forum (Zambia IGF) seeks to shape the future of the internet and digital technologies in Zambia. We host an annual multi-stakeholder platform for discussion of different issues surrounding the local ICT and Internet ecosystem. Among issues discussed include, internet governance and regulation in Zambia, digital rights and cybercrime and cybersecurity among others. The national forum feeds into the regional and global IGF’s to ensure a bottom-up Internet policy development process that promotes linkages into regional and global policies. 
The virtual meeting will take place from  6th – 7th October 2020, under the theme ‘Cybersecurity and Digital Rights During Humanitarian Times: The Case of Covid-19 in Zambia.’ 
Thrive for Teams is a half-day workshop designed to help teams step back and take stock, realign their goals, and develop a game plan for the rest of 2020. The session will incorporate some teambuilding to allow participants to process at an individual level whilst sharing their experiences and hopes with their team members. The session can be virtual or in-person where facilities allow for social distancing. Book your session here.
In partnership with Novartis Foundation, a NEXUS founded organization ‘Women in Global Health’ is awarding $10,000 $5,000 respectively to digital health startups led by women based in low- and middle-income countries to Build Back Better post COVID-19!
