BongoHive has been awarded €140,561.88 under the EU-funded GreenTech4CE initiative to deliver a 12-month Incubation and Acceleration Programme for 40 early-stage digital enterprises in Lusaka and the Copperbelt. The programme is designed to strengthen startups developing green and circular economy solutions through technical assistance, prototype development, financial and compliance training, mentorship, market linkages, and investment-readiness support.
This follows the official contract signing ceremony held in Lusaka, where the European Union and the Government of Zambia introduced the newest group of organisations selected to help advance the country’s transition toward a green, digital, and circular economy. Among the Business Development Service Providers recognised at the ceremony were Jacaranda Hub, the Copperbelt University Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Mining, Africa Sustainable Investors, and CADeV (with Challenges Zambia).
Representatives from the EU and the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development underscored the importance of supporting entrepreneurs who are building innovative and climate-aligned solutions capable of driving sustainable growth.
Through this grant, BongoHive will guide participating startups from problem–solution validation and prototype development to market engagement and scale-up. This initiative reaffirms BongoHive’s commitment to nurturing Zambia’s next generation of green digital innovators and strengthening the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem.
