BongoHive continues to play a key role in strengthening Zambia’s innovation ecosystem, supporting initiatives that unlock opportunities for innovators to move from idea to impact.
Through its partnership on the Engineering Fund by the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ), over K1.1 million has been awarded to 10 innovators working on solutions that address real-world challenges within the engineering sector.
The Engineering Fund is designed to bridge the gap between innovation and implementation, a critical barrier for many innovators. By providing access to funding, the initiative enables engineers, researchers and entrepreneurs to develop and scale solutions that contribute to Zambia’s national development.
As a supporting partner, BongoHive brings its expertise in innovation support, venture building and ecosystem development to ensure that funded projects are not only financed, but positioned for growth and sustainability. This aligns with BongoHive’s broader mission of supporting entrepreneurs and innovators through access to resources, mentorship and strategic networks.
The initiative also highlights the importance of collaboration across the ecosystem. Delivered alongside partners including the National Technology Business Centre (NTBC), Zambia Industrial Commercial Bank (ZICB), and the Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA), the Fund reflects a shared commitment to enabling innovation at scale.
Among the supported projects is Netagrow Technologies, one of the solutions advancing through this support, demonstrating the potential of locally developed innovations to drive impact across sectors.
As BongoHive continues to work with partners across industries, initiatives such as the Engineering Fund underscore the importance of creating structured pathways for innovators to access funding, build sustainable solutions and contribute meaningfully to Zambia’s economic growth.
