How do you describe yourself?
I always say I am like a fine wine – an acquired taste. You either like me or you don’t. I am not comfortable with settling, and I love to converse on topics with depth. To be honest, I thrive on a challenge and I am always looking for something new to do. I am also a good listener and I love to stay organised and focused on both my personal and professional life.
What is something we do not know about you?
One thing people don’t know about me is that as a child, I owned a TelegameStation – (GS2001). I was addicted to playing video games for hours and I remember how one of the covers for my cartridge broke and so I thought it wouldn’t work anymore. But, curiosity didn’t kill the cat, it made me inquisitive. Till today, I enjoy playing video games – but I don’t own one anymore.
What was your first day at BongoHive like?
My first day at BongoHive was amazing because I got to meet Mbuyu Makayi in the kitchen and we got off to a great start. I was having my breakfast, and it was pretty awkward. So he broke the ice and started telling me how much he enjoyed dinner with his father the previous night. Of course, this got me talking because I love good food.
What constitutes your day-to-day tasks?
I manage the Coworking space at BongoHive and typically, I spend my days researching emerging trends in remote work, flexible workspaces and coworking.
What hard or soft skills make you perform your tasks better?
I am able to shift gears and take on responsibilities that sometimes may not be my area of expertise. I believe that employees who are able to adapt to change can achieve a greater work-life balance, leading to increased employee satisfaction and improved morale.
What is your favourite aspect of work at BongoHive?
My worst nightmare would be to do repetitive tasks!
My favourite part of my job right now is probably the flexibility I have with my hours. I also love the culture within the organisation and how we show people they are appreciated. Small efforts make broad strides
What activities do you enjoy outside work?
Outside of work, I love listening to music, particularly South African house music. I have met producers such as Prince Kaybee, Shimza, Sun-El Musician etc…I look forward to having some Peppermint Tea with Black Coffee someday.
