Celebrating Five Years of Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: The Women in Tech Zambia Awards 2025

The fifth edition of the Standard Chartered Women in Tech (WiT) Zambia Awards marked a major milestone — five years of transforming women-led businesses through technology, innovation, and inclusive growth.

Hosted at the Standard Chartered Bank Head Office in Lusaka, the event brought together industry leaders, innovators, and changemakers to celebrate the top five winners, each receiving USD 10,000 in seed funding to scale their ventures.

Graced by Hon. Elias Mubanga, Minister of Small and Medium Enterprise Development, the ceremony highlighted the programme’s lasting impact on Zambia’s innovation ecosystem. Since its launch in 2019, WiT Zambia — implemented by BongoHive and supported by Village Capital — has trained over 50 entrepreneurs, catalysed ZMW 18 million in funding, and empowered startups to expand regionally.

“This is not just a programme; it’s a movement,” said BongoHive Executive Director, Lukonga Lindunda. “Each mentorship hour, each partnership, and each dollar invested creates ripples of empowerment that redefine who gets to lead and how Zambia innovates.”

The 2025 Top 5 Women in Tech Zambia Winners are:

  • Kapampa Mwape – Kulanda Publishing House

  • Tsitsi Zulu – Goodleaf Investment Limited

  • Zama Bbuku – Cherry-Pick Limited

  • Susan Chishimba – Corelink Consulting Limited

  • Niza Aritha Zulu – Bio Green Technology

As Standard Chartered CEO Sonny Zulu announced a new USD 500,000 investment to extend the programme for another three years, one thing was clear — Women in Tech Zambia isn’t just shaping businesses; it’s shaping the future of inclusive innovation.
