In Zambia’s vibrant tech landscape, a quiet revolution is underway—led by women who dared to dream, build, and scale. The Women in Tech Zambia Accelerator, implemented by BongoHive Innovations and funded by Standard Chartered Foundation, has become a launchpad for female entrepreneurs transforming ideas into impactful ventures. With the application deadline extended to 8th June 2025, now is your chance to join this empowering journey.
For many past participants, the experience has been nothing short of transformational. Koloso App, a gamified mobile platform enhancing personalized learning for students, credited the program with sharpening their strategy and direction: “SCWiT gave us the clarity and confidence to scale.” This sentiment is echoed by Vwanganji Bowa, Founder and CEO of Mighty Finance Solution Limited, who described the program as a game-changer. “The mentorship and strategic training gave me the tools I needed to navigate and grow in the financial sector,” she shared.
For others, the program was the missing piece between idea and execution. Dr. Kayanda Besa, founder of Wilawane Store, used the accelerator to bring her dream of providing high-quality educational toys and books to life. “The journey was tough, but I wouldn’t be where I am today without the SC_WiT program,” she reflected. Meanwhile, Esineya T. Chilumbu, who received the $10,000 equity-free grant, leveraged the program’s support to take her agri-tech solution to market—proof that the initiative empowers ventures across sectors.
Participants in the Women in Tech Zambia Accelerator gain access to a $10,000 equity-free grant awarded to five selected startups, along with a 3-month structured acceleration covering business strategy, growth, and operations. The program offers professional mentorship, legal and financial support, digital services, and extensive networking opportunities with corporates, investors, and potential partners. Media exposure, six months of post-programme market expansion support, and entry into a strong alumni network also await successful applicants.
To apply, you must be running a legally registered, for-profit business in Zambia for at least three months, with fewer than 10 employees. Your startup must earn under $100,000 annually, have raised less than $500,000 in equity, and already have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with some traction. The founder must be a Zambian woman aged 18–35, with equal or majority ownership, and available full-time for the program running from 23 June – 9 October 2025.
