Today, the Association of Consulting Engineers of Zambia – (ACEZ) and BongoHive Consult signed a partnership agreement, drawing strong support from the Government. The collaboration is designed to strengthen Zambia’s engineering and innovation ecosystem by merging technical expertise with entrepreneurial and digital skills.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Infrastructure,Housing and Urban Development – Zambia, Professor Albert Malama, commended the initiative as more than a symbolic gesture, calling it a “living framework” that must deliver measurable impact.
“Infrastructure may be the backbone of development, but it is human capital—engineers, planners, architects, and consultants—that truly drives transformation,” Prof. Malama said, underscoring the importance of investing in people to achieve national development goals.
The partnership will combine ACEZ’s engineering expertise with BongoHive’s innovation, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship experience, resulting in programmes that build practical skills, enhance professionalism, and prepare Zambia’s engineers for the future of work.
BongoHive Executive Director, Lukonga Lindunda, highlighted the value of complementing technical training with entrepreneurial and digital skills:
“Through joint workshops and training programmes, we aim to equip Zambia’s consulting engineers with business development, digital transformation, and human-centered design skills.”
ACEZ President, Engineer Tresphor Musonda, described the MoU as a milestone for the profession, while ACEZ CEO, Chituwa Chulu, emphasised its potential to foster knowledge exchange, professional growth, and practical innovation.
This partnership marks an important step in shaping Zambia’s engineering sector to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world—through collaboration, innovation, and human-centered development.
