My name is Stellia, I am a Content Creator working in the Marketing department. The first time I worked for BongoHive, I was doing my industrial attachment as a third-year university student. In my fourth year, I joined BongoHive as a Marketing and Communications intern, and then eventually transitioned to my current role as a Content Creator.

I describe myself as analytical, an overthinker, time-conscious and determined. I can tie my personality to the work I do at BongoHive. I spend my typical day at work writing. I create copy for social media posts and blog posts. This means that I do a lot of research, a lot of thinking and overthinking to create content that appeals to our audience, and at the same time, show the organisation’s personality.

 It is interesting how I got into creating content – I was convinced that my ideal job was in the field but I got into a workspace where my possibilities are limitless. Through my work, I have come to learn of the startup ecosystem and the amazing innovations and solutions that entrepreneurs across the country and around the globe can build. I got introduced to the tech and innovation spaces within the organisation where I developed and built a new skill; technical blog writing. It is because of the exposure I have had in the organisation that has helped me develop skills like strategy planning, research, a creative mindset, ability to understand and interpret complex topics and writing skills. On top of the skills that I gained at BongoHive, I am time conscious. This ensures that content is ready and sent out at the right time. I am also flexible and always on stand by for any tasks that I can handle.

I enjoy the flexible work environment and the leadership at BongoHive. I like how every team member is given a sense of ownership of the work they do. This has ushered me into the person I am today. I am reminded of my first days at BongoHive where my supervisor and colleague were so patient and eager to teach me how to go about doing my job. They always told me not to be afraid to try and this has been my work motto to this day.

Because I am not afraid to try, I am proud to mention that I led my first project at BongoHive and it was a success. 

If I am not writing, I spend my time outside of work experimenting with different kinds of recipes, watching movies and spending time with my family.
