Hi! My name is Taonga Grace Banda-Chizyuka and I am the Innovation Lead at BongoHive. I would describe myself as highly driven and empathetic.

What does Taonga’s typical day at BongoHive look like?

The first thing I do in the morning is look at my calendar to get a picture of what lies ahead in the day. Then I look at what tasks need to be accomplished for the day or week and get started based on the most urgent ones.

What inspired Taonga to choose her career path?

I happened to stumble upon my career path, as if by accident. I always wanted to be a lawyer however after working with a group of women entrepreneurs, on a program 5 years ago; I realised impacting African businesses had become a passion of mine and that’s what led to this career. 

Taonga reveals that she has always been fascinated with extraterrestrial life, a passion she nurtured from childhood.

Being a keen lover of plants, Taonga enjoys shopping for different plants and some of her hobbies include discovering new eateries, painting, colouring and SLEEPING!

She highlights that her favourite aspect of BongoHive is working with an array of clients from different sectors to solve complex challenges using Human Centred Design approaches.
