BongoHive is inviting experienced individual consultants, specialist firms, and training institutions to apply as Technical Experts for the SME Development Program Phase II, a business capacity-building initiative designed to strengthen the technical readiness of local SMEs in Kalumbila District, North-Western Province.

Funded by a leading mining operation, the programme seeks to build a pool of procurement-ready, citizen-owned enterprises capable of meeting the standards required to successfully bid for and deliver contracts within the mining, infrastructure, energy, and corporate sectors.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking qualified Technical Experts to develop practical training materials and facilitate hands-on technical skills workshops for local SMEs across key sectors. This consultancy presents an opportunity to contribute to enterprise development by equipping businesses with the technical knowledge and operational standards required to compete for large institutional contracts.

Areas of Expertise

Applications are invited from experts in one or more of the following sectors:

  • Construction
  • Engineering, Technical Services & Civil Works
  • General Supply & Ancillary Services

Applicants may apply as individual consultants or as specialist institutions with relevant technical expertise and experience in SME capacity building.

Scope of Work

Successful applicants will be responsible for:

  • Developing sector-specific training materials and workshop resources.
  • Delivering practical three-day technical workshops.
  • Facilitating field learning visits and hands-on exercises.
  • Conducting participant assessments and contributing to certification scoring.
  • Preparing workshop reports and programme deliverables.

Workshops will be held in Manyama, Kalumbila District, between 24 August and 2 September 2026. All logistics, including accommodation, transport, venue, and meals, will be arranged by BongoHive.

Who Should Apply?

We encourage applications from professionals who have:

  • Relevant academic and professional qualifications.
  • Proven industry experience in their technical field.
  • Experience delivering technical training, adult learning, or SME capacity-building programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, quality assurance, health and safety, and operational compliance.
  • Knowledge of local languages such as Kaonde, Lunda, or Bemba is an added advantage.
